Three members of a family sustain burn injuries in N’ganj fire

Three members of a family sustained burn injuries in a fire caused by an explosion due to gas leakage at a house in Fatullah of Narayanganj district early Sunday.

The injured were identified as Harun-or-Rashid, 60, Runa Akter, 40 and Meem, 17.

The fire broke out at the house at Talla around 4:00 am when someone tried to light the gas oven of the house, leaving three people injured, said deputy assistant director of Narayanganj Fire Service Civil and Defence, Abdullah Al Arefin.

Dr Shaon Bin Rahman, resident surgeon of the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute, said three people, who suffered burn injuries, were taken to the hospital early this morning.

Of them, Runa received 60 per cent burn injuries while Harun and Meem sustained one per cent injuries, said the physician.

Runa was admitted to the hospital while the others were kept on observation.
