A trader was killed allegedly by another trader following a money dispute after selling beef at Sener Bazar in Rupsha upazila of Khulna district on Friday night.
The deceased, identified as Arif, was a butcher and son of Mohammad Ali from Sadar upazila.
Shariful Islam, in-charge of Aichgati Police Camp, said Arif and Rubel had financial dealings at Sener Bazar, as per a UNB report.
Around 8:30 pm on Friday, an altercation broke out between them over the transaction of Tk 0.25 million (2.5 lakh), leading to a scuffle.
At one point, Rubel attacked Arif with a machete, leaving him critically injured.
Arif was rushed to Khulna Medical College Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries around 10:45 pm.
Police are conducting raids to arrest Rubel.
