Train collision in Chattogram injures three railway workers

A collision between two trains on Wednesday night in the Faujdarhat Cadet College area of Chattogram district resulted in injuries to three railway employees. The accident involved the Chattogram-bound Karnaphuli Express and the engine of another train.

The injured personnel were identified as Mohammad Ali, the lockmaster of Karnaphuli Express, alongside his assistant, Nazrul Islam, and fellow loco-master, Sabuj Chowdhury. Following the collision, they were promptly transported to Chattogram Medical College and Hospital for medical attention, as per UNB reports.

Saiful Islam, a Chattogram Railway Divisional Officer, provided details on the accident, stating that the Karnaphuli Express collided with the engine of another train around 7 pm while the latter was being moved to the CGPI Yard.

In response to the incident, authorities have established a three-member committee to thoroughly investigate the collision's circumstances. The investigation aims to uncover the cause of the accident and to implement measures to prevent similar incidents in the future, ensuring the safety of railway workers and passengers alike.
