A student of International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC) was crushed under the wheels of a train at Kumira in Sitakunda upazila on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Kazi Sirat, a student of English Department of the university.
Shahidul Islam, officer-in-charge of GRP Police Station, said a train hit Sirat around 9:00am, leaving him dead on the spot.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to local hospital morgue, according to a news agency report.
