A woman was crushed under the wheels of a train at Pashuhat in Mirpur upazila of Kushtia on Thursday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Kulsum, 45, wife of Jony Ali of Ishwardi uapzila in Pabna district.
Ruhul Amin, station officer of Mirpur Fire Service and Civil Defense, said Kulsum and her husband Jony worked as cooks at a restaurant in the area.
The accident took place at around 7:30am when Khulna-bound 'Sagardari Express' train from Ishwardi hit her while she was walking through the rail bridge with her husband.
Kulsum was killed on the spot, according to a news agency report.
Jony, however, was able to jump off the rail bridge and save himself.
