A Tangail commuter train collided head-on with a freight train near the Joydebpur Railway Junction early on Friday in Gazipur.
At least five train carriages derailed and several people were injured in the accident that occurred around 10:50 am, according to a bdnews24.com report.
Joydebpur Station Master Hanif Mia confirmed the accident, but he was not able to state the cause.
Measures were being taken to remove the derailed compartments from the rail tracks, he said.
