A truck driver was killed in a road accident at Sabritala intersection on the Rajshahi-Naogaon highway in Manda upazila here in the district this morning.
The deceased was identified as Saju Mia, 40, of Kholahati union in Gaibandha district.
The incident occurred around 5:00 am when a goods-laden truck hit a sand-laden truck from behind as its driver lost control over the steering. Truck driver Saju died on the spot, said Mansur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Manda Police Station, as per a BSS report.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Naogaon Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
