Two people including a truck driver died from electrocution at Jhajra area of Gazipur city early Thursday.
The deceased have been identified as Rubel Mia, 30, a truck driver and his assistant Jahangir, 50, both hailing from Bhola district, according to a news agency report.
Md Akteruzzaman, assistant director of Gazipur Fire Service and Civil Defence, said the incident took place around 1:30am when the truck hit an electric pole beside the road and got electrified, leaving the duo dead on the spot.
On information, a firefighting unit went to the spot and recovered the bodies in the morning.
