Two brothers have been killed after a bus ploughed into a CNG-run autorickshaw in Bogura’s Shahjahanpur.
Three others were injured in the crash that occurred around 12:30 am Saturday in front of Proyas School on the Dhaka–Rangpur Highway.
The dead men were identified by single names as Akash, 25, and his younger brother Arif, 21, sons of Hazrat Ali of Sherpur Upazila.
The injured include their uncles Haider Ali, 50, and Abdul Aziz, 38, and another passenger, Md Palash, 35.
They have been admitted to Bogura’s Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, bdnews24.com reports.
Shahjahanpur Police Station chief Shafiqul Islam said the autorickshaw was travelling from Bogura town to Sherpur when it collided head-on with the bus. Akash died on the spot, while Arif passed away in the hospital during treatment.
The injured remain under hospital care. Highway Police have impounded the mangled autorickshaw at their Sherpur camp.
