Two children drowned in a pond at Walia village under Lalpur upazila in Natore on Thursday.
The deceased were identified as Naim, son of Adam Sardar of the village, and Afia, maternal cousin of Naim.
According to family sources, Afia came to visit her aunt's house from Rajshahi in the morning. Naim along with his cousin went to the pond to have bath. Both of them drowned.
At one stage, a woman spotted the floating body of Afia.
Then the bodies of Naim and Afia were recovered from the pond, reports UNB.
