Two people were crushed to death under the wheels of a train in separate incidents in Kalihati upazila of Tangail district early Friday.
The identities of the deceased could not be known till the filing of this report, according to UNB.
Rezaul Karim, booking master of Bangabandhu Bridge East Railway Station, said an unidentified man, aged around 30, was run over by the Dhaka-bound 'Ekata Express' from Dinajpur while crossing the railway track near Bangabandhu Bridge East Railway Station around 5:00am. He died on the spot.
Another unidentified man was killed when he was hit by the same train at Saratoil in Kalihati upazila, one kilometre away from Bangabandhu Bridge East Railway Station, around 5:15am, Rezaul added.
On information, Railway police recovered the bodies and sent those to a local hospital morgue.
