Two people were killed and 15 others injured when a coach hit a stationary bus on Sylhet-Dhaka Highway at Tajpur Kadamtala in Osmaninagar upazila of Sylhet district on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Sohel, 30, driver of the bus and son of Tajul Islam of Narsingdi district and his helper Emon, 20.
The accident occurred around 6:30 am when the Sylhet-bound Saintmartin Paribahan dashed a stationary bus of ‘Jatayat Paribahan’ as the driver and helper of the bus were busy in repairing it, leaving two killed on the spot and 15 others injured, said Abu Taher Dewan, Officer-in-Charge of Sherpur Highway Police Station.
The injured were taken to the Osmani Medical College and Hospital.
