Two people were killed and seven others were injured when a bus hit an auto-rickshaw and plunged into a roadside ditch on Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Daudkandi upazila of Cumilla district on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Faruk Hossain, 38, an auto-rickshaw driver of Daudkandi upazila and Mizanur Rahman, 49, of Chuadanga district.
The accident occurred around 3 pm at Jinglatoli area when the bus of ‘Econo Paribahan’ hit an auto-rickshaw and plunged into the roadside ditch, leaving two killed on the spot and seven others injured, said Officer-in-charge of Daudkandi Highway Police Iqbal Bahar.
The injured were taken to Daudkandi Upazila Health Complex.
