Two minor boys drowned while bathing in a pond in Deoliabari area of Gazipur City Corporation on Sunday.
The deceased Junayed, 10, Abdul Momen, 11, were students of a local madrasa and lived with their parents at rented houses in the area.
Locals said the boys went to the pond at around 11:00 am to take a bath. As they did not return for a long time, their families, knowing they couldn’t swim, began searching for them.
After a while, their bodies were found floating in the pond.
Sub-inspector of Konabari Police Station Md Rafiqul Islam said they visited the spot and handed over the bodies to their families without autopsy upon requests.
