Vehicular movement halted on Chattogram-Cox’s Bazar road

Vehicular movement on Chattogram-Cox’s Bazar road remained suspended since Tuesday morning as a large portion of the highway went under water due to incessant rains over the past four days and heavy onrush of water along the hill slopes.

Besides, landslides and waterlogging also halted communication on Ruma-Thanchi route in Bandarban.

As many as six people were killed in Bandarban and Cox’s Bazar due to landslides and more than 1,000 houses were marooned amid incessant rains till Tuesday.
