A female farmer was killed after being hit by a thunderbolt at a haor in Purangaon village of Bishwambharpur upazila on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Shahara Banu, wife of late Hazrat Ali of the village in Dakhshin Badaghat union.
Family sources said Shahara was bolted by the lightning jolt while she went to the haor for herding cattle, leaving her dead on the spot.
Meanwhile, three people were injured in another incident of lightning at Hatamar village in Fenarbak union of Jamalganj upazila in the morning, reports UNB.
