A youth has died after falling from a eucalyptus tree in Ranisankail upazila of Thakurgaon.
The deceased was identified as Raju Ahmed, 24, from Bhatpara village in Rator union, as per a UNB report.
According to his cousin, Raju climbed the tree to straighten a bent branch in their garden on Sunday afternoon.
He fell when the top branch broke and landed on a spade beneath the tree, which pierced his abdomen, causing critical injuries.
Locals rushed him to Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital, where physicians declared him dead.
Officer-in-charge of Ranisankail Police Station, Arshadul Haque said that no complaint has been filed yet.
