A Bogura court has ordered the arrest of popular content creator Ashraful Hossen Alom, widely known as Hero Alom, over ‘soliciting sexual relationship with promises of marriage’.
The arrest warrant was issued by Judge Anwarul Haque of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-2 on Tuesday afternoon, confirmed prosecutor Ali Asgar.
He said the judge issued the arrest warrant after the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) submitted its investigation report to the court.
The lawyer said Hero Alom promised to marry a woman and make her a film heroine. He then raped and physically assaulted her, later forcing her to have an abortion.
The woman filed the case against Hero Alom on April 21, 2025.
The suspect did not answer calls made over the phone for his comment on the matter.
