Covid test scam: ACC sues ex-health DG, JKG’s Sabrina and 5 others

The Anti-Corruption Commission filed a lawsuit against seven people including the former director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Professor Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad and JKG Healthcare Chairperson Dr Sabrina Sharmin Hussain over their involvement in issuing fake Covid-19 test reports.

The case was filed by ACC Assistant Director Afnan Jannat Keya at the commission’s Integrated District Office on Wednesday.

JKG Healthcare led by Ariful Haque Chowdhury and his wife Dr Sabrina Arif Chowdhury, was charging money from the suspected coronavirus patients for testing, despite having a prior agreement with the government to conduct the test free of cost.

The fraudulent company was fabricating signatures and official seals of government agencies to create forged coronavirus test reports, while throwing away the samples obtained from suspected Covid patients.
