20 arrested so far over murder of RAB member in Jungle Salimpur

CHATTOGRAM, Mar 28: A total of 20 absconding accused have been arrested in separate operations in the murder case of RAB member DAD Abdul Motaleb in Jangal Salimpur under Sitakunda upazila in Chattogram.
Of the arrested persons, RAB-7 Chattogram has arrested 13 persons and the district police have arrested seven others.
RAB said that on January 19, while conducting a raid to arrest armed terrorists in the Jungle Salimpur area, an ambush was launched on RAB members. Four members were seriously injured in the attack. When they were taken to the Chattogram Combined Military Hospital (CMH), the doctor on duty declared DAD Abdul Motaleb dead. The incident created a huge sensation in the area.
RAB-7 filed a case with the Sitakunda Police Station against 29 people as accused and 150-200 as unknown accused. The case was filed on January 22 last.
However, at last, on March 27, three persons were arrested from Shershah in Bayezid Bostami area in the port city. They are identified as Parvez (35), Belal (30) and Saidul Islam (26).
Others who were arrested earlier are Mizanur Rahman Sohan (19), Selim (35), Sekender Mia (43) Yunus Ali Howlader (62), Khandaker Zahid Hossain (39), Aliraj Hasan (28), Mizan (53), Mamun (38), Shahjahan (53) and Shafiqul Islam (51).
Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-7 and Assistant Superintendent of Police ARM Mozaffar Hossain said that the arrested persons were handed over to the concerned police station for legal action.
