Police arrested twenty-one people during a special operation in Jatrabari area of the capital on Friday over their alleged involvement in various criminal activities.
The arrestees were identified as Salia Akter alias Sharmin Sultana alias Sudha, 32, Hridoy Khandaker alias Erison Hridoy, 25, Rubel Hossain, 28, Md Russel, 28, Mehedi Hasan, 24, Raju Mia, 28, Rifat Hossain, 22, Golam Mostafa, 45, Abdur Rab, 55, Md Rafique, 53, Md Raju, 38, Md Zahir, 38, Farhad Hossain, 40, Foyjul Haque, 38, Md Gaffar, 25, Md Yeasin, 19, Anwar Hossain, 45, Md Zafor, 26, Pervez Bepari, 24, Mamun,39 and Omar Faruk, 30.
A team of Dhaka Metropolitan Police from Jatrabari Police Station conducted a special drive in different parts of the area on Friday night and arrested them, said Talebur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner (Media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
He said such drives will continue to maintain the law and order situation in the capital.
