72 held in DMP’s anti-narcotics drives

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 72 people in the city in a regular anti-narcotics drive on the charges of selling and consuming illegal drugs.

Different police stations under DMP conducted the drives and arrested the suspected offenders from different areas of the capital in the last 24 hours ending at 6:00am on Monday.

The law enforcers also seized 48,193 pieces of yaba, 205 grams of heroin and 5.200 kilogrammes of cannabis, 16 bottles of phensedyl, a can of beer with some other drug items, according to a DMP statement.

A total of 48 cases were filed under the Narcotic Control Act against the suspects with the concerned police stations in the city.
