Abducted Bangladeshi man found dead in Naf River

Police recovered the body of a Bangladeshi man, who was abducted by Myanmar-based armed separatist group Arakan Army, in the Naf River at Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Chhaidul Bashar, 20, son of Mohammad Hossain of Palongkhali union in Ukhiya upazila.

Bashar was reportedly among the five people who were abducted by the Arakan Army a few days ago, as per media reports.

Being informed by locals, police recovered the body from the river around 9:00 am, said Ukhia Police Station Officer-In-Charge (OC) Md Arif Hossain.

The family members of the victim identified him, OC said adding that the body bore several injury marks.

Legal action is under process regarding the incident, said the officer.
