A gas cylinder trader was stabbed to death by assailants in the Kudar Bazar in the capital's Kadamtali area on Tuesday night.
The deceased has been identified as Shahabuddin (40). The incident occurred around 10 PM.
Shahabuddin was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in critical condition, where doctors declared him dead at 11:00 PM. "My brother used to run a scrap business in the Kadamtali-Jurain area. For the past two months, he had been operating a gas cylinder business beneath our home," said Shahabuddin's elder brother, Mohiuddin.
"At night, I learnt that miscreants had attacked him with a weapon in the Kudar Bazar area of Kadamtali. We rushed him to the emergency department of DMCH in a blood-soaked condition, but the doctors declared him dead," Mohiuddin added.
