Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized various import-banned medicines, Indian saree and three-pieces worth Tk 2 million (20 lakh) from Sadipur border under Benapole Port Police Station on Sunday night.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of BGB led by Lt Col Ariful Haque, the commanding officer of BGB-49 battalion, raided the frontier area and found the Indian contraband worth Tk 20 lakh in abandoned condition.

The seized goods were deposited to Benapole Custom warehouse later.
