Coast guard seize 1.4m Yaba tablets from Cox’s Bazar

Bangladesh Coast Guard on Tuesday night seized 1.4 million Yaba tablets from a boat on the western side of St. Martin's Island in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar district.

Acting on a tip-off, team of Coast Guard conducted a drive in the area and challenged a boat on the western side of the island, said assistant intelligence director of East Zone Coast Guard Lt Commander Abdullah Al Maruf.

Sensing danger, the drug traffickers threw 10 sacks into the sea and sped away towards Myanmar, he said, reports UNB.

Later, the Coast Guard members found 1.4 million Yaba pills in the sacks and handed those over to Teknaf Police Station.
