Customs officials seize six gold bars at Chattogram airport

Customs officials recovered six gold bars, weighing 60 tolas, from the rectum a passenger at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram Saturday.

Jamal Uddin, who arrived in the port city by a flight (G 9-526) of Air Arabia around 9:30am, was detained on suspicion, said Noor Uddin Milon, assistant commissioner of Chattogram Customs House.

Later, an X-ray was done on him at a private diagnostic centre which detected metals hidden in his rectum.

The gold bars worth around Tk 2.4 million (TK 2400,000 was recovered in presence of officials concerned, the customs official added, reports UNB.
