Detective Branch (DB) police members of Motijheel circle arrested three people along with 70,000 pieces contraband yaba tables and 52 kg hashish from the capital's Jatrabari area.
The arrestees were: Md Shariat Ullah (43), Md Rahim Badsha (36), and Md Delwar Hossin Liton (43).
According to Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), a DB team took position on the Dhaka-Chattagram Highway at Shonir Akhra in Jatrabari area at around 5:30 pm on Friday. The team had information that a covered van carrying yaba and hashish was moving towards the capital from Cox's Bazar.
The team halted the van when it reached Shonir Akhra, and recovered the yaba and hashish. Legal action was taken against the three arrested persons.
