A Dhaka court on Monday placed president of Eden Mohila College unit of the banned organisation Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Tamanna Jasmin Riva on a two-day remand.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mostafizur Rahman granted the remand in a case filed on the allegation of attacking the Dhaka University (DU) students.
Detectives arrested Riva last night and produced her before the court today seeking a 10-day remand.
Abu Sayad Bin Mahin Sarker, a student of Ziaur Rahman Hall of DU filed the case with Shahbag Police Station in which 391 Awami League and Chhatra League supporters were accused.
Riva’s lawyer opposed the remand prayer and prayed for bail.
After the hearing, the court granted a two-day remand for Riva, according to a BSS report.
Riva was a student of the 2009-10 academic session in the Department of Marketing of the college.
