Five suspected members of a fraudulence gang held in Jhenaidah

Detectives in a drive arrested five members of an alleged fraudulence gang from different parts of Jhenaidah district on Thursday night.

The arrestees are Raju Ahmed, 29, son of Akamat Mia, Akidul Mandal, 20, son of Abul Mandal, Talip Sheikh, 20, son of Habibur Sheikh, Al Amin, 22 and Sabbir Hossain of Sadar upazila.

Tipped off, a team of DB conducted a drive at Chaklapara area in the district town and arrested a member of the gang for deceitfully taking money from people using bKash app, said Jahangir Alam, officer-in-charge of Jhenaidah DB police.

Following interrogation, police arrested the other members of the gang, reports a news agency.

The gang had long been involved in cheating people using, the policeman said.
