A court has recorded the arrests of former ministers Anisul Huq and Faruk Khan, along with former lawmakers Shahjahan Omar and Golam Kibria Tipu, in separate murder cases filed at various police stations in the capital.
Trinamool BNP chief Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury, former police chief Abdullah Al-Mamun, former military officer Ziaul Ahsan, former senior secretary Muhibul Haque, and People's Party Chairman Babul Sardar were also formally arrested in these cases, as per a bdnews24.com report.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sharifur Rahman issued the order on Wednesday after investigating officers brought the accused from prison to court and submitted a request to record their arrests.
He subsequently ordered their continued detention in jail.
The court also ruled that bail hearings for the detainees would be conducted in a magistrate’s court.
