A Jamaat-e-Islami activist has been killed during a violent clash with BNP supporters over the appointment of an Imam for Eid-ul-Fitr prayers in Mohanpur upazila of Rajshahi.
The incident took place around 8:00 pm on Saturday at Sakua, according to Mohanpur Police Chief SM Moinuddin.
The dead was identified as Mb Alauddin, a local Jamaat activist.
