Police have arrested a man on charge of killing his wife in South Keraniganj upazila of Dhaka on Saturday night.
Md Shariful Islam, sub-inspector of South Kerniganj Police Station, said Md Abul Kashem, 50, security guard of a factory in Hasnabad area of the upazila, was arrested from Joydevpur in Gazipur.
The SI said the victim Minara, 40, who lived in Fatullah of Narayanganj, went to the factory to reach meal for her husband on September 8.
Later on September 9, police recovered the body of Minara from the factory and sent it to Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital.
After the incident, her husband Abul Kashem went into hiding.
The deceased’s elder brother Md Ayub Ali filed a murder case making Abul Kashem lone accused, reports UNB.
In primary interrogation, the accused confessed that he strangled his wife to death.
He is set to be produced before a court on Sunday, the police official added.
