Police arrested a man on charges of raping his daughter-in-law in Sharsha upazila of Jashore district.
The accused, Mizanur Rahman Gahar, 65, was arrested during a joint drive conducted with the assistance of Rapid Action Battalion(RAB) from the Moheshpur area of Jhenaidah district, reports UNB.
Maruf Hossain, officer-in-charge(OC) of Sharsha Police Station, confirmed the information by a press release.
Mizanur Rahman Gahar is the son of the late Lutfor Rahman of Ekjhala village under Sharsha upazila.
According to the case statement, the victim filed a case with Sharsha Police Station on May 9 under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.
Then, acting on secret information and using information technology, conducted the joint operation with RAB and arrested the accused.
OC Maruf Hossain, said the arrested accused was produced before a Jashore court on Friday noon.
