A 21-year-old man was stabbed to death allegedly by some young men over a trifling matter at Berabari Dighir intersection in Mohonpur upazila of Rajshahi district on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Sabbir, 21, a grocery shop owner and son of Alamgir of the area, reports UNB.
Modasser Khan, sub-inspector of Mohonpur Police Station, said Sabbir had an enmity with one Manjur Khan, son of a former UP chairman Abul Khan over payment of debt money.
Around 4 pm on Sunday, both Sabbir and Majur locked into a heated argument over the issue. At one stage, Manjur along with his associates stabbed Sabbir with a sharp weapon, leaving him injured.
Later, Sabbir was taken to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital where the doctors declared him dead.
Police are trying to arrest the attackers, said SI Modasser.
