A Gazipur court on Sunday convicted a man and sentenced him to death for killing his wife in Tongi area in 2015.
After examining all the records and witnesses, District and Session Court Judge A K M Enamul Haque handed down the verdict.
The condemned convicted is Anisur Rahman, son of Ansar Ali of Dinajpur district who used to live in Auchpara area of Tongi.
The court also fined him Tk 10,000.
According to the prosecution, Anisur hacked his wife Moushumi Akhter, daughter of Manjur Haque, hailing from Panchagarh district to death over a family feud on August 5, 2015.
Locals caught Anisur from the spot and handed him over to police, reports UNB.
Later, the victim's cousin Tarikul Islam filed a case with Tongi Police station.
