Some unidentified miscreants hacked a security guard to death and snatched four motorcycles from the garage of a house in Truck Road of Chandpur town in the wee hours of Monday.
The deceased was identified as Delwar Pradhania (50), resident of Munshirhat Dakshin Dighaldi village of the same district.
Delwar had been working as a security guard of the ninth-storey building (Ayesha Garden) for last one year.
One of the flat owners of Ayesha Garden, Saiful Islam, discovered the body lying inside the guard’s room next to the gate in the morning, according to a local media report.
The miscreants probably went inside through an open space beside the main gate and snatched the motorbikes after killing the guard, Police suspected.
Tipped-off, Chandpur Model Thana Police recovered the dead body and sent it to the district general hospital morgue for an autopsy, said Sub-Inspector (SI) Kamruzzaman.
