Police on Thursday recovered the decomposed body of a man, who had gone missing for several days, from a locked warehouse in Gangni upazila of Meherpur district.
The deceased was identified as Biplob Hossain, 52, son of the late Anisur Rahman of Bogura Sadar upazila. He was a carpenter by profession.
According to locals, Biplob had been working at the rented warehouse for the last three months with two assistants, making wooden furniture.
Family members failed to reach him as his phone was switched off for several days.
On Thursday, they informed the Gangni police, who later broke open the locked warehouse around 11:30 pm and recovered the decomposed body and sent it to the morgue for autopsy.
Locals said that Biplob's two assistants, who had been staying with him, are still missing.
Gangni Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Al Mamun said police teams are working to determine the cause of death. Details will be known after the autopsy report.
