Moinuddin Abdullah, son of former chief whip Abul Hasnat Abdullah, was taken on a five-day police remand on Saturday in Jubo Dal leader Shamim murder case filed with the city’s Paltan Police Station.
IO of the case produced him before the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Ragib Noor and prayed for a 10-day remand.
Lawyer of Moinuddin Abdullah, prayed for bail and opposed the remand prayer. The court rejected the bail petition and asked for putting him on a five-day remand.
Police arrested Sherniabat Moinuddin Abdullah from the city’s Gulshan area on Friday night.
Police said he was arrested for his suspected involvement in the killing of Jatiyatabadi Juba Dal (JCD) leader Shamim murder in the city’s Paltan area on October 28, 2023, during the Dhaka Siege programme of BNP.
Family members of Shamim filed the murder case with Paltan Police Station on September 24 last.
