Murder suspect dies in Jashore inter-gang shootout

A murder suspect has been shot to death in Jashore town. Police say he was killed in a shootout between two groups.

The incident occurred in the town’s Kazipara Begum Mill area in the early hours of Saturday, said Jashore Kotwali Model Police Station OC Apurbo Hassan.

38-year-old Taijul hailed from the town’s Kheladanga area. He was accused in a murder case over the death of a local man, named Shohag. He was also accused in a series of other cases, according to police.

Police say a team was dispatched to the area after reports of a shootout between two gangs of criminals. Taijul’s body was later recovered from the scene, bdnews24 reports.

Police suspect that Taijul was killed over a dispute.
