Physician hacked to death in Jessore

A village doctor was hacked to death allegedly by his rival in Chowgacha upazila of Jessore district on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Anishur Rahman, a village doctor of Jagannathpur village of the upazila, as per media reports.

According to locals, a group of miscreants attacked the village doctor with sharp weapons, while he was inside of a tea stall at around 8:00 pm on Tuesday.

Anishur was taken to Jashore General Hospital. Later, he died around 4:00 am at the hospital.

Asha Hossain, the former chairman of Singhajhuli Union in the upazila and the elder brother of the deceased, was also killed by miscreants in 2002.
