Police arrest Chattogram headmaster for ‘sexually harassing’ students

Police on Tuesday arrested the headmaster of a Karnaphuli primary school from the capital for 'sexually harassing' students. 

Tipped off, a team of Karnaphuli Police Station with the help of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested Abul Hashem, headmaster of Paschim Patharghata Government Primary School in Karnaphuli upazila, from Mirpur area around 3pm, said Syed Mostafa, officer-in-charge of the police station. 

Police said Hashem used to take private tuition of Class-V students in a classroom of his school in the afternoon. At that time, he used to try to sexually harass the girls. 

The guardian of a student filed a case on Monday. 

Following the filing of the case, police arrested Sadat, president of the school managing committee, on the day while Abul Hashem went into hiding, reports UNB.
