Police arrest five over Rangamati JL man murder

Police have arrested five people in connection with the murder of local Jubo League leader Arbinda Chakma in Rangamati.

Addition police superintendent of Rangamati Shafiul Sarwar said the suspects were arrested during a police drive on Sunday morning.

The arrestees are Lakkhi Lal Chakma, a member of Dumduma union parishad in Jurachhari, Uttam Kumar Chakma, Manos Chakma, Rabidhan Chakma and Hemanta Chakma.

On December 5, Arbinda was shot to death by unidentified miscreants at Mitingachhari Bazar of Jurachhari upazila.

According to UNB, a group of criminals opened fire on Arbinda while he was returning home after attending a party meeting in the upazila headquarters, leaving him dead on the spot.
