Police have recovered the throat-slit body of a man from a paddy filed in Kashra-Gobindapur village of Panchbibi upazila of Joypurhat district.
The deceased has been identified as Naju Mandal, a van puller and son of Masum Mandal of the village.
Quoting family members, police said someone called Naju out over the phone on Tuesday night, since then he did not return home.
On Wednesday morning, locals spotted his body in the area and informed the lawmen, reports a news agency.
Police, who recovered Naju's body, said the motive behind the murder could not be known immediately.
