A teenage boy, who was reportedly kidnapped on June 7, was found buried in an abandoned place in Paglapara village of Nagarkanda upazila early Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Alauddin Matubbar Antar, 14, a class VIII student of Talma Nazimuddin High School and son of Abul Hossain, a Greece expatriate.
Antar went missing on June 7. On the next day, Antar's mother Jannati Begum filed a missing complaint with Nagarkanda Police Station, said Jakir Hossain, superintendent of Faridpur Police.
The kidnappers, however, strangled Antar on June 8 and buried him in the village, the police official added.
The kidnappers demanded Tk 500,000 as ransom from Antar's mother over phone. Later on June 14, Antar's mother kept Tk 140,000 at a place advised by the kidnappers, but her son did not return.
By tracking mobile phones of the kidnappers, police managed to arrest Khokon, Shah Alam and Sujon on June 22.
After interrogating the four, police arrested Mahbub Alam in connection with the abduction on Tuesday, reports UNB.
Later, based on Mahbub's confessional statement police recovered the body around 12:30 am, said the superintendent of police.
