Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-1 last night arrested five members of a human trafficking gang from different parts of the capital.

“The arrestees Md Asaduzzaman Asad, 39, Md Osman Gazi, 48, Md Sirajul Islam, 52, Md Tipu Sultan, 55, and Md Liton Mahmud, 35, were detained from capital’s Uttarkhan, Uttara and Mirpur areas,” Senior ASP Md Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan (media) of RAB told BSS today.

“Md Asaduzzaman Asad used to con people by setting up flashy offices in Uttara area, publishing ads, luring them in the name of sending them to Europe and the US. His agents used to bring the victims to Asad’s office and realise money by making fake visas and air tickets,” RAB-1 deputy commander Major Rakibuzzaman told BSS.

Md Osman Gazi, Md Tipu Sultan and Md Liton Mahmud used to assist Asad in making fake visas while Md Sirajul Islam and others used to work as his agents.

RAB recovered 32 passports, seven fake visas, cheques of different banks, 15 signed bank stamps, a laptop, two computers, one colour printer and five mobile phones from their possessions.

A case was filed in this regard, reports BSS.
