The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has detained five people for allegedly spreading rumour over the Padma Bridge construction.
The arrestees are: Shahidul Islam (25) from Narail, Md Arman Hossain (20) from Chattogram, and Md Faruk (50) from Moulvibazar.
Two other arrestees could not be identified immediately, reports BSS.
RAB Assistant Director (legal and media wing) Senior Assistant Superintendent Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan informed that five people were arrested from different districts Thursday night and Friday, and they were handed over to police.
Separate cases were filed against the arrestees at the police stations concerned under the Digital Security Act as they were spreading rumour over the Padma Bridge construction through social media, including Facebook.
