The alleged ringleader of a robber gang, who fled from the custody of the Detective Branch (DB) of police 12 days ago, was arrested again from Gopalganj district early Friday, reports UNB.
A team of DB police arrested Zahidul Islam from Maksudpur upazila headquarters in the early hours, said sub-inspector Abu Bakar Siddique of district DB.
Later, he was brought here and produced before a court.
Detectives arrested Zahidul along with a rifle from Korchadanga village in Jibannagar upazila and brought him to the district DB office for interrogation on September 1.
Zahidul fled from the DB office in the early hours of following day.
Meanwhile, three policemen were suspended for negligence of duty over the incident.
