Police have recovered two severed human hands from the Stadium Market area of Gulistan and a severed leg from Kakrail in the capital.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Md Rezwanul Islam said the hands were recovered at around 9:45am from the road in front of the market, between gates 1 and 4 of the National Stadium.
He said police retrieved the two severed hands after receiving information in the morning.
Police are collecting and reviewing CCTV footage from the area to determine who left the body parts there and at what time, he added.
Paltan Police Station Sub-Inspector Shahidul said a severed human leg was recovered from Kakrail at around 2:00am on Saturday.
He said it has not yet been confirmed whether the leg and the hands belong to the same person.
The recovered body parts have been sent to the morgue of Dhaka Medical College for further examination. Police are investigating the incident.
