A sexagenarian man was killed by his son with a knife in Chattogram's Sitakunda Upazila on Tuesday.
The deceased Belal Hossain, 62, hailed from North Wapda East Surlikka village of Sudharam Thana in Noakhali. He used to live with his family in Babu Colony of East Hasnabad Ward No. 4 of Bhatiari Union of the Upazila, reports UNB.
Abul Kalam Azad, officer-in-charge (OC) of Sitakunda police station, said victim Belal had a quarrel with his son Mohammad Helal. The police officer said Helal had an affair with a girl and he wanted to marry her. But his father did not agree to get the son married because he was jobless.
At one point, Helal stabbed his father leaving him seriously injured and ran away.
Later, injured Belal Hossain was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
"Legal action will be taken in this regard," added the OC.
